SADI-S (Single anastomosis Duodeno- ileal Bypass with Sleeve gastrectomy) is an effective weight loss surgery procedure.
The average human stomach can expand to hold 1-1.5 litres of food. The SADI-S is created using a stapling device and the sleeve typically holds about 100-150mL and is about the size of a banana.
By altering the anatomy of the gastrointestinal tract, by creating the gastric sleeve, and altering the path and anatomy of the small bowel, the SADI-S changes signals in the body, resulting in decreased hunger and increased feelings of fullness after meals.
