Several Coalition frontbenchers have opposed the federal government's proposed misinformation laws.
The censorship scheme would allow the Australian Communications and Media Authority to fine social media sites for spreading misinformation and harmful content.
The Opposition is concerned it will grant government the ability to censor media organisations and tech platforms.
The Liberal Party has yet to formally announce a stance on the bill.
