Obviously not MTB, but a rare powder window in a dry winter. Two days after the snowfall, we followed our mountain‑guide buddy above Les Plans‑sur‑Bex to the Col des Pauvres (Vaud Alps, Switzerland). Avalanche danger was high, but he found the safe lines in that perfect snow. Two climbs, two incredible descents in deep snow, a near-crash into a tree and a ski-pole almost lost in 10 hectic seconds (still don't know how I saved both of these), pristine powder fields and a final forest run to end the day.
This is the first episode of our annual skitouring weekend.
