Rocklin is a city in South Placer County, California that is located in the metropolitan area of Sacramento. It shares borders with Roseville, Loomis, and Lincoln. The city's population is 58,295 as of 2012 and has a total area of 19.6 square miles. Rocklin has been called one of the fastest growing cities per a 60% population increase over the last 12 years.

Rocklin has a rich heritage from 1893 - when Spring Valley Ranch was established by the Whitney family. The planned communities of Stanford Ranch and Whitney Oaks now occupy much of the former Spring Valley Ranch. As Rocklin grew -- the city saved many of the original granite bridges used to cross creeks and parks were designed to include these bridges. Rocklin's claim to fame came with the mining of granite. Granite for the State Capitol and many of the buildings in San Francisco came from Rocklin's quarries.
