In this episode, my good buddy Eric and I head out to explore one of the most unique and underrated desert hikes in Southern California — the Rings Loop Trail at Hole-in-the-Wall** in the Mojave National Preserve. 🌵⛰️
The trail gets its name from the metal rings bolted into the rock, which you use to climb through a narrow slot canyon — easily one of the coolest scrambles in the desert! Hole-in-the-Wall itself is named for the countless natural holes and pockets eroded into the volcanic rock walls, giving the area a surreal, otherworldly vibe.
We take you through the full loop, showcasing the wild rock formations, wide open desert views, and that fun ring-assisted climb through Banshee Canyon. It’s a short but action-packed adventure — perfect for anyone looking for a quick and exciting hike off the beaten path.
📍 Trail Info:
Location: Mojave National Preserve
Distance: ~1.5 miles
Difficulty: Easy to moderate
Highlights: Metal ring climb, volcanic rock formations, desert views
Whether you're planning your own trip or just want to see what makes this place special, come along for the ride! And don’t forget to like, comment, and subscribe for more SoCal outdoor adventures.
