The 65th General Hospital was a US Army medical centre situated at the heart of the USAAF's groups in East Anglia, England. It treated casualties from the Eighth Airforce as well as receiving hospital trains from Normandy after June 6th 1944.

My journey into researching the US Army Medical department and specifically the 65th General hospital, stems from being a aircraft mad child upon the Suffolk and Norfolk border, which emersed me amongst the Eighth Airforce aerodromes. During COVID I began researching the American hospital based within the village I was bought up in, and found that there was little or no mainstream information about this forgotten and overlooked part of the American and European air war As I researched deeper, I discovered a story worth advocating for and that's when I began to write a book and promote the backstory of the skilled, dedicated and unwaivering medical staff of the US Army Medical department and the Eighth Airforce surgeons.
