Let’s Sew A (Free) Wet Bag! Back-To-School Sewing with Marathon Sewciety

In this tutorial we will sew an unlined wet bag (both a small and large version!) with a single compartment closed with a zipper. The inside is finished with French Seams.

Cut a single piece of PUL (polyurethane laminate) for your wetbag:
WIDTH = desired finished width + 1.25”
HEIGHT = desired finished height x 2

Nylon zipper equal to width of cut fabric, optional tabs 1.5” x 1.5” (cut 4).

I am sewing on a domestic Juki HZL-DX7. I am using 1mm PUL material for my wet bag (unfortunately the supplier is no longer in business), and YKK nylon zippers in size 3 (small bag) and size 4.5 (larger bag). I am using a 80/12 universal needle and Gutermann Mara 100 polyester thread.
