Forty potential new species found in deep-sea canyon

Описание: Scientists exploring a deep-sea canyon off the coast of Argentina have uncovered a stunning array of marine life—some of it never seen before. Using a robotic submersible, the team documented over 40 potential new species, including pastel pink lobsters, translucent squid with horn-like appendages, and a crab carrying more than 100 barnacles on its back.

The expedition, led by the Schmidt Ocean Institute, highlights how little we know about life in the ocean’s depths—and how much biodiversity may still be waiting to be discovered.
