Jérémie returns to the Aveyron village of Saint-Martial for his former boss’s funeral and ends up staying with the widow, Martine. Tensions rise with her son Vincent and with a reclusive neighbor, Walter, leading to a fatal confrontation in the woods that Jérémie buries—literally—under leaves and lies. As suspicions mount, a lonely local priest inserts himself into the cover-up, recasting guilt as “mercy” and keeping the police at bay. What follows is a slow, uneasy drift of secrets, desire, and denial against a sleepy countryside backdrop.
