We start and end at the bicycleferry Nije Skou. This ferry started around 1750, in 1971 the ferry stopped, and it re-opened in 2008.
The windmill, Mellemûne is a restored windmill. And pumps water from the surrounding farmlands in the canal It Deel.
It Deel connects the lakes and Akkrum with It Hearrenfean (Heerenveen)
