On our way to the airport we took a quick stop at the Lightwave Pottery studio just off the main highway in Kapaa, Hawaii. The pottery is fascinating and beautiful and even more remarkable once we saw how it is made. The pottery is not painted; the patterns are part of the clay. This place is worth a visit if you ever find yourself on the island of Kauai.
This was actually our second time visiting the studio. A year ago we stopped by, but the showroom was almost completely empty due to sudden fame from becoming recognized on the internet. Having now recovered, the showroom is full of some of the most vibrant pottery yet.
