Origin of Light Ancient Event - Post Event Thoughts. The Worst Ancient Event So Far - DML

Hello. I've been trying to stay positive with DML events recently, especially since we were told a few months ago that Gameloft were looking to change these events after the disaster which was the water ancient event... However, it seems the opposite has actually happened.

These are my unscripted thoughts on how the light event was, how it felt to play, why the event is inherently unfair and is actually worse than the water event in many ways. The way that the legendary Soft dragon and its pieces were handled during this event just has no excuse. The lack of communication about the number of pieces that would be available, the ridiculously low drop rates and making it part of the collection to get Luzra have just really put a massive stain on this event.

28 days of grinding in this event to get 0 major reward dragon. And yes, I did miss about 2 days worth of resets and some bingos. Not because I wanted to, but because in 28 days of playing an event, things come up. Expecting players to be able to log in at minimum once every 6 hours every single day for 28 days just does not work for the grand majority of people, especially those that play on PC. This isn't something new, but this event doesn't even give a 10% leeway on resets to get a major reward dragon... Unless you get insanely lucky with drops.

To get a Valkov full drop, that's over 14,000 chests on average that a person would have to open. Others spent £500 on this event and still didn't get Soft. This event wasn't fair for free to play players, minor spenders OR whales. The way this entire event was handled leaves a lot to be desired and I have to say that I genuinely feel this may be the worst major event DML has ever released.

Personally, if the next major event doesn't see major improvements, I will no longer be taking part. I've seen many long time players quit after this event and the previous water ancient event and I can fully understand why. I've never supported the lootbox models, or the ridiculous timers, but this time they've pushed it even further with many not getting a single ancient in this event.
