Christmas Ornament Makeover | Upcycling Old Baubles

Join me as I take a couple of outdated baubles and turn them into festive and chic ornaments that will sparkle on my tree this holiday season. With just a few materials and a little creativity, you can bring new life to old decorations and impress your guests with your DIY skills!

Old plastic Christmas tree baubles
Rubbing alcohol
Vintage Paint by JDL - Warm Cream chalk paint https://amzn.to/3QUAlsn

Vintage Paint by JDL - Metallic silver
Paper napkin or rice paper
Decoupage glue (Art Potch glue)
Sparkling ribbon or golden rope
Beaded string

Steps:
1. Clean your old baubles with rubbing alcohol to prepare them for painting.
2. Apply two coats of white chalk paint to each bauble.
3. Trace around a medium sized bottle cap on both sides of the bauble.
4. Paint everything but the traced circles with metallic paint.
5. Cut out a small piece of a paper napkin or rice paper to fit inside the traced circle.
6. Apply a bit of decoupage glue to the background and the design and glue the paper onto the chalk paint.
7. Cut off the excess and apply a top coat of Polyvine Decorators Varnish to protect the paper.
8. Add bling with ribbon or rope around the edge of the circles.
9. Use hot glue to attach bows made with ribbon or fancy pipe cleaner strings.
10. Hang the ornaments with beaded string for a finishing touch.
