A heartbreaking accident took place in the early hours near Gandavaram on the National Highway in Kodavalur Mandal, Nellore District. A container lorry rammed into a parked bus, killing one passenger and injuring over ten others.
🚌 What Happened?
SR Travels bus was on a tour from Vijayawada to Nagapattinam with 40 passengers
The driver stopped the bus roadside as a child was vomiting
Some passengers had stepped off the bus when a speeding container lorry crashed into the vehicle from behind
Baburao (50), standing behind the bus, died on the spot
More than 10 passengers sustained serious injuries
🚨 Rescue Efforts:
Local motorists rushed to help and called emergency services. Injured passengers were taken to Nellore Government Hospital.
Senior police officials including DSP Ghattamaneni Srinivas Rao and Kodavalur CI Surendra Babu reached the spot and began investigations.
