Mega Man Zero 3 (GBA), Perfect Run/No Damage speedrun of the Volteel Biblio (Sunken Library) (100 Pts.), played on a NG+ save file. This no damage run's purpose is to show off more of Zero's potential via the EX Skills over charge attack spam. As such, charged attacks (excluding Recoil Rod, since there's universal utility with it and it's damage sucks) will not be used after the intro stage. Volteel Biblio (Sunken Library) Strategy:
So, let's cut to the chase: this stage was probably the most difficult to record, mainly because of the doors. Beforehand, I already knew about ajarmar's method of getting a fixed combination of doors, but... well, I'll explain that later. For now, let me follow up on what I said in the breakdown:
In order to get a fixed combination (or at least close to it) of doors, you'll first need to examine the flickering light in the background. This here is a good indicator on when you should enter the transitional door. The doors with the 4 secret disks will generate based on which frame you entered the transitional door. So, when that light in the background flickers off, IMMEDIATELY run towards the door. From there, your doors will generate and should be the same each time you enter. But, here's the tricky part: this ALL depends on how fast you actually get to the door. If you're a slower player, your doors will be a COMPLETELY different combination from mine. Unless you copy my every move to the P, you just aren't getting my doors. Find out how long it typically takes for you to get to the door, master your movements so they can be identical in each run, then use that to determine which doors you should get.
You also need to time your sprint to the transitional door perfectly each time. Like I said, the doors generate on the frame you touched it. Be a mere frame too early or too late and your doors will be SLIGHTLY altered. This actually happened to me in this recording, as I dashed like a few miliseconds too late than usual. But, the general rule of thumb is that even if you mistime it, you'll still get a similar combination to your preferred combo. Just a door or two might be either swapped or totally different, but most of the doors will be the same. This also affects which disks appear in the rooms, so don't be surprised if a Dr. Weil disk just suddenly ends up a weird terrain room when it should be in a flat terrain room (where you want to fight Volteel in).
