Martha Koome gets advice from Garissa Township MP Aden Duale. She has been nominated Chief Justice by the Judicial Service Commission after the JSC interviews at the supreme court grounds. Her name will be forwarded to President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Others interviewed included: Chitembwe Said Juma, Kameri Mbote Annie Patricia Gathiru, David Marete Njagi, Philip Murgor Kipchirchir, Nduma Nderi, Fred Ngatia, William Ouko and Moni Wekesa and Yano Alice Jepkoech .
JSC Secretary Anne Amadi had said that it would take two weeks.
Prof Olive Mugenda was chairing the interviews.
DCJ Philomena Mwilu was present. Also present are Justice Majanja, Justice Warsame, and Attorney General Paul Kihara Kariuki.
CJ Maraga succession is expected to draw a lot of reactions.
Justice Koome Martha Karambu will be pressured to ensure the swearing of 40 judges by President Kenyatta.
It will be interesting to see how Raila Odinga and DP Ruto react to this.
