It reaches about six to eight feet in ten years and features a beautiful early spring red that changes to a mauve red with green highlights, before turning bright yellow and orange in the fall. Ideal for small to mid-sized landscapes, 'Villa Taranto' thrives in full sun in cooler climates but needs protection from harsh afternoon sun in hotter regions. Its unique strap-like leaves, part of the lunar lobum style, and its ability to contrast well with other maples, such as 'Ryusen,' make it an exceptional choice. THE LEAVES ARE VERY THIN AND LONG AND MIMIC THAT OF BAMBOO. IN AUTUMN, THE LEAVES OF 'VILLA TARANTO' TURN TO BRIGHT YELLOW TO ORANGE. ‘VILLA TARANTO’ IS NAMED FOR THE GARDEN IN ITALY IN WHICH IT WAS FOUND.
