You have a dark side. So do I. The difference isn't whether it exists—it's whether you're integrating it or letting it operate from the basement. Jung's whole point about individuation was this: acknowledge the shadow, or it will keep influencing your decisions, your words, your life—unconsciously, and often traumatically. It doesn't go away because you've decided to be good.

Perfectionism and anger are tied together. You have an ideal of how things should be—how people should act, how your work should turn out, how the world should function. When reality doesn't conform, the anger builds. You stay easygoing, mellow, letting things slide—until the tipping point. Then it floods. That's the shadow, finding its moment.

And then there's the misunderstood thing. We expect it by now. But here's the hard truth worth etching into your brain: nobody really feels your pain. Your loved ones care, yes—but partly because you're woven into their life matrix. They haven't lived your thoughts. So stop waiting to be fully understood. It's not coming. That expectation is another shadow—quieter, but just as heavy.

The strategy isn't suppression. When the shadow bites, acknowledge it. Say: there you are. See the mechanisms that brought it forward. These darker aspects are like inner children—they need attention, not exile. Integration isn't about becoming flawless. It's about knowing what's down there, so it stops running things without your consent.
