In this process tutorial, Sizzix Licensed Artist ‪@VickiBoutin‬ shows how to turn a single stencil into two completely unique backgrounds using clever mixed media techniques from her latest release.

Using the Buildable Backgrounds #1 Stencil Set, Vicki first applies textured paste through the stencil with a palette knife using the Sizzix Stencil & Stamp Tool for perfect placement. Then comes the magic—by misting the stencil with water and pressing it onto a second panel, she creates a beautiful, transferred print for an entirely different look.

Vicki then die-cuts florals from the textured and transferred backgrounds using the Floral Layers #1 Die Set, layering them into a dimensional card full of texture, depth, and movement.
