The Assetto Corsa EVO 0.8 update is here — and it adds the VW Golf 8 R. So we're doing this properly: first I drive the Golf R on the Nürburgring Nordschleife in AC EVO, then we take the real thing onto the real Nordschleife and find out how close the sim actually gets. Riding shotgun for his first ever lap of the Green Hell: James Pumphrey (‪@SpeeedCo‬, ex-‪@Donut‬ ) — consider this us getting him up to speed. In this video: the 0.8 update, sim vs reality on braking points, kerbs and compressions, James's live reactions, and my honest verdict on how AC EVO's Nordschleife compares to the track I drive every week.
