This is my experience as a UK backpacker on a working holiday visa in Australia and this was my third job. night shift industrial cleaner on a vegetable farm. The job involves washing and cleaning the vegetable processing and packaging machinery after production has finished. You don't need any qualifications or tickets for this job, and it's usually easy to get into, even with no experience. How did I get the job? After living in Brisbane for 3 months and not finding much work, I moved out to the country and tried to find farm work. I hand delivered my CV to several farms and only heard back from one. My only experience in Australia was a few weeks in construction and farm field work, which was enough to get me the job. My usual wage was around $1,200 per week with my best week at $2,300. Overall, the job was easy and good money, but extremely repetitive.

Over time, I worked my way up to a supervisor position, which involved a lot more paperwork and inspections and planning and organizing the workload between the cleaning team. The job became even easier and paid better. But after working so many hours 6 days a week, I became pretty worn out from the workload and the lifestyle. With the money I had saved up, I decided to leave the job and finally travel around Australia.
