Me vs. a pro driver in my car!

Описание: Myself and Nico ‪@bpt582‬ had the privilege of being coached by pro driver Aaron Jeansonne--Posrche Carrera Cup NA winner--at an open test day at Thunderhill East! Aaron is the top video and I'm in the bottom video.

Getting a benchmark and telemetry data from a proven pro driver in my own car was really valuable. Aaron made up a lot of time with harder, more precise braking in critical corners like turns 10 and 14, which is where the differences can come down to at a high level of competition. On my lap I had the benefit of damper setup changes that he suggested to improve the car but was distracted slightly by traffic. But I was happy to see that for the most part that I was not in a much slower world of speed than a pro driver! Aaron did say he probably could have done a better lap were he more used to the car's handling (which he described as "quirky") and if we had a better tire that didn't only have a few laps in them before overheating.

Overall, it was a pleasure to pick his brain about driving, competition, and my current setup. It was also a good reminder in continuing to polish my laps and inputs even if I already consider them fast!
