Was sent a coticule with a razor to test if the stone is worthy. I go through the process and put the best edge on it I can and then see if it will shave.
Stones Used:
1. Chosera 1K
2. Shapton Pro 5K
3. Norton 8K or Shapton Pro 8K
The lapping plate was a well worn Atoma 400 diamond plate.

I know there are many variables involved here and I could have gone on for hours. I'm sure I could have gotten a better shaving edge and I know many guys out there who are way better than me on these stones could have gotten it to work. Thing is, I feel if you have to do all that stuff to get it to work then it's a pass for me. Maybe I've been spoiled by my good stones as all I do is 20 or so passes under running water or the foam soap after the 8K, strop and it's end of story.
I did put another edge on the razor the following day and it worked great.
