Evie visits a bookstore and signs her name in our new book, "The Polka-Dotted Penguin!" She had a lot of fun spelling her name and being famous! Evie the Extraordinary channel features playtime, learning, and fun adventures with Evie, who happens to have Down syndrome. Kids with disabilities are cool and different, just like everyone else!
Evie is a wonderful little girl who has Down syndrome. On this YouTube channel, we hope to be an inspiration for other children, as well as parents out there who have children with Down syndrome and other conditions. We will share our experiences of kids living with disabilities and hopefully provide tips on how they can have a full life while staying cheerful, energetic, positive and happy throughout it all.
Bookstores have a special place in the hearts and minds of most communities. They're special places where you can learn about an author, a tale, or a life. Nothing compares to the opportunity for dialogue and connection among book lovers that a bookstore provides. A bookstore will be able to accommodate you in the future. In order for bookstores to thrive, future generations must be exposed to the unique joys they provide.
It's true that bookstores are important because they provide children with the opportunity to escape out into worlds beyond their own. They not only read books but also explore creative outlets and can meet new people. Bookstores, due to their relaxed atmosphere, provide an extremely safe way for children to interact with other adults, gain independence and confidence in themselves.
But bookstores are becoming less common, as publishers and agents tend to focus on selling eBooks and audiobooks. However, according to studies, bookstores are still important points of distribution for kids’ books. In fact, children and parents can enjoy more benefits when buying used books at second-hand stores than at physical or digital bookstores.
Playdates are a great way for your child with Down Syndrome to experience what normal kids do in the day at school. We've seen firsthand that having Down Syndrome doesn't mean you don't want to socialize or have friends - it just means accessing people, places, or activities might be different for them. Playing with new friends practicing new skills will help them develop abilities that seem more like those of other children. In fact, kids with Down Syndrome are a wonderful part of American culture, including media, corporate America, Hollywood, and religious institutions. Our objective for this video is to encourage children who have Down Syndrome and their families to be their normal happy selves.
