“Ako’y nakakasiguro na ang tulay na ito, magbabago ang ekonomiya sa magkabila ng tulay na ito,” President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. said when he led the inauguration of the Camalaniugan Bridge in the Municipality of Camalaniugan, Cagayan on January 8, 2026.

The Camalaniugan Bridge has a total length of 1,580 meters, consisting of 1,100 meters of approach bridges and a 480-meter cable-stayed main span.

In his speech, the President commended the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) for completing the project on time and within the approved budget, highlighting the Camalaniugan Bridge as a model for future bridge and infrastructure projects nationwide.

“Napakalaking bagay ang paglagay ng ganitong klaseng tulay dahil as all of you here are well-aware ay it cuts the travel time,” he said, emphasizing the bridge’s role in improving connectivity and transportation between Camalaniugan, Aparri and nearby towns.

In closing, the President expressed confidence that the newly opened bridge will spur economic growth, create new employment and business opportunities, and deliver tangible benefits to communities on both sides of the Cagayan River, with positive economic effects expected to be felt soon.
