A rare moment in Canggu, Bali — heavy tropical rain pouring down right after a relaxing afternoon walk. Earlier we had just finished our walk from Pererenan Beach through Echo Beach and Batu Mejan Beach, ending at Batu Bolong Beach, where the beach was filled with tourists enjoying their evening. But in just a few minutes, the sky opened up and heavy rain hit Canggu suddenly and dramatically.

Traditional Balinese dancers and musicians who were performing at the beach rushed to find shelter, along with tourists who had been lounging, surfing, and watching the sunset. The scene changed instantly — from a lively sunset atmosphere to an unexpected tropical downpour.

We continued walking in the rain from Batu Bolong Beach Road towards Munduk Catu Beach Road, recording this rare weather moment along the way. Not many videos document Canggu during heavy rain, especially in the heart of the tourist area. The streets shimmered with reflections, motorbikes queued up as riders waited for the rain to pass, and beachgoers crowded under any roof they could find.

This video is a raw and real-time capture of Canggu in the rain, a side of Bali that travellers don’t often see — dramatic, refreshing, and uniquely beautiful.
