MR. BRIGHT APPIAH, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, CHILD RIGHTS INTERNATIONAL

Over the years, we have seen a troubling pattern. Cases of sexual abuse involving children are reported, complaints are raised, but meaningful action is often lacking until the issue goes viral or attracts media attention.
This should not be the case every child deserves protection not only when the camera is on.

Mr. Appiah called on state institutions, including the police, the Department of Social Welfare, and the judiciary, to act swiftly and decisively on all reported cases, regardless of public attention.

He stressed that delayed justice exposes children to further trauma and undermines public confidence in the child protection system.

Child Rights International is urging government to strengthen child protection systems and ensure perpetrators are held accountable to serve as a deterrent.
