We love board games at the Southington Library, and what a better activity to participate in on a rainy day!
Here's a quick tutorial on how to create your very own version of Connect Four! This game is intended for 2 players.
All you'll need is
Cardboard
Sheet of paper
Scissors
2 differnt colored markers/crayons/ or colored pencils
Something circular shaped, roughly the size of a soda bottle cap
Tape, decorative, painter's, etc.
1. Gather your supplies
2. Trace about 40-42 circles on the sheet of paper
3. Color 20 circles one color, and the other 20 the second color.
4. Cut out the circles.
5. Make your game board by making a grid with the tape on the cardboard. The grid should be 7 columns by 6 rows. If you do not have tape, use a ruler to draw thick lines with a marker in the same grid pattern.
6. Separate the colored circles. You're ready to play.
To play:
1. Each player picks a color.
2. Determine who goes first.
3. Each player take turns by alternatively placing one colored circle at a time in a square on the board. Only one circle can be in each square.
4. Continue until someone makes a straight line of 4 same color circles. The line can be horizontal, diagonal, or vertical.
