While speaking about BRICS’ key role in shaping greater Eurasian Partnership Lavrov said, “The inclusion of Eurasian giants – China, India, Russia, and now Indonesia – positions BRICS as a potentially highly effective participant in the formation of the Greater Eurasian Partnership.” He also noted that the growth rates and purchasing power-adjusted GDP of BRICS countries have already exceeded those of the G7 combined. Lavrov also took a dig at US claiming that there are efforts to ban India and other partners from purchasing Russian oil. In his interview Lavorv said For many years, the United States acted as a driver of the global economy and a regulator of global finance, using the role of the dollar to consolidate its dominant position. Today, it is objectively losing its economic influence and its weight in the world economy. At the same time he said, countries such as the People’s Republic of China, India and Brazil are rising in the global stage.
