Pete Hegseth has held a press conference in which he took several question. He has stated that the US capabilities are numerous and will increase over time. He has also criticised previous US interventions in the Middle East, but stated that this one is different and that the US will go on for as long as it takes until the state objectives are met. The Strait of Hormuz is still being closed which already has an effect on the global economy. Sergey Lavrov has showed concern regarding that negotiations with US and Ukraine, saying that the “spirit of Anchorage” is evaporating. He has also stated that the US has undertaken actions which cannot be viewed as friendly by Russia. Mark Rutte has stated that even though NATO doesn’t take part in the conflict in Iran, the NATO members are showing a lot of support for the US operation.
