A team from Tradin Organic packed their bags for a trip to one of our proud origins, in Central Java, Indonesia, to capture the beauty of nature, listen to the testimonies of farmers and local partners, and report on the impact of our Social Sustainability Fund project.
Co-funded by RVO and launched earlier this year, the project focuses on improving farmer livelihoods and reducing environmental impact through targeted interventions. These include technical assistance, capacity-building trainings, and equipment upgrades aimed at promoting sustainable practices.
Among the key goals is the introduction of improved stoves: a healthier kitchen solution that reduces emissions and create safer, more efficient working environments. Another innovation is the introduction of a new dwarf variety of coconut trees. These shorter palms are easier and safer to harvest, and allow farmers to collect more nectar daily, effectively doubling income opportunities while reducing the physical strain of the work.
