Elder Patrick Kearon of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles and his wife, Sister Jennifer Kearon, spoke to a worldwide audience of young adults of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Sunday. Their remarks centered on the Savior’s power to lift, redeem and offer true hope.
The Church has deployed 150 to 200 volunteers each day after wildfires in Southern Chile. The Church is coordinating with local authorities, municipalities and emergency agencies to make sure relief reaches the hardest-hit areas.
A new portrait of Joseph Smith will hang in the Martin Luther King Jr. International Chapel at Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia. The oil portrait was unveiled on Sunday. Joseph Smith was honored as founding president of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and for his plan to abolish slavery as a United States presidential candidate in 1844.
