Several massive explosions rocked a fireworks facility in Esparto, California, just days before the Fourth of July, igniting “numerous spot fires” and forcing a one-mile evacuation zone, officials said. The blasts, which began around 5:50 p.m., sent debris flying, triggered fireworks mid-air, and created a thick, acrid cloud of smoke. Locals reported shaking homes as the Oakdale Fire scorched over 78 acres before being contained.
