I purchased a pair of Koio Retro Runner Italian leather sneakers for $420 AUD last year. After wearing them almost daily for walks and casual use over the past 12 months, I'm following up with a durability and quality review.
Unfortunately, the lining leather has already worn through on the heels after around 200 wears. The outer leathers are faring okay, but glue is failing in spots on the sole. The footbed fit is excellent but construction issues limit the lifespan.
At this premium price point, I expected the materials and build to allow 3+ years of athletic regular use. But with repairs likely needed within a year, the Koio Retro Runner fails as a replacement for typical sport/walking shoes. Watch for an update after another year of wear.
