Big bowls of pasta hit the table first: rigatoni in rich red sauce, penne, bread baskets moving nonstop. Classic Carmine’s style—oversized portions, bold flavors, meant to be shared. Carb loading? Approved.

Then came The Titanic.

Not just a dessert—an event. Towering chocolate cake, scoops of vanilla and chocolate ice cream, hot fudge, whipped cream, strawberries, caramelized bananas, candied pineapple, hazelnuts, wafer cookies. The kind of dessert that expects surrender.

Trainer logic entered the room. Pasta and tomato sauce made sense for fueling. Dessert? That was the real test.

The fork hovered.
The temptation was real.
The room watched.

She didn’t cave.

Discipline held—even with the Titanic sitting center stage. Judy and Bindesh observed like analysts. Notes were taken. Lessons learned.

I, however, played the nice guy and went home with a week’s worth of dessert. My roommates are going to be very happy.
