National Day 2021 began with the release of a rescued and rehabilitated short-toed eagle, named Jebel Tarik in honour of the occasion, by the GONHS Raptor Unit at the Queen's Balcony in the Upper Rock Nature Reserve.
In town, Gibraltarians started the day's festivities with the traditional breakfast of coffee and churros - and they were visited by Chief Minister Fabian Picardo, Governor Sir David Steel, and Minister at the FCDO, Wendy Morton.
Ms Morton presented the Chief Minister with a letter of support from Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, and was herself given a Gibraltar national football shirt with her name on it by the Governor.
The Chief Minister, Governor and visiting minister then headed to Catalan Bay to celebrate with residents - with (also traditional!) barbecues taking place at the seaside all around the Rock.
