Описание: We were requested to pit a team of sword and shield people against a team of short spear people. Short spears were popular in the late-medieval period and are far better for fighting in confined spaces or in armour than long spears. Long spears would be at a disadvantage in this context and are actually easier to fight against with a sword because they are slower. The rules were - one good hit and you're out - therefore we are simulating something like an unarmoured street fight (if we allowed multiple hits then people would just charge in kamekaze). Armour would of course change everything - this is unarmoured fighting. These weapons hit harder than it looks (they are solid nylon and wood) and there were plenty of bruises - in some cases we hit more softly where there is no need to hit hard (for example when hitting from behind). The fighters here have varying abilities and familiarity with these weapons.
