Girhi­handu Seya (ගිරිහඬු දු සැය), Thiriyaya, Trincomalee is a very old Buddhist shrine located near Thiriyai village, about 45–50 km north of Trincomalee.
It is believed to be the first stupa built in Sri Lanka, erected by two merchants, Tapassu and Bhalluka, who enshrined hair relics of the Buddha there.
The site includes ruins of monastic structures, rock caves with ancient inscriptions, and a vatadage (circular shrine structure) built around the stupa.
It is considered a sacred pilgrimage site and an important archaeological monument in the Eastern Province.
