Описание:
Abandoned in 1923, Pinner Mine and Quarry opened in 1841 and was mined for stone flags. The long rock face has 8 entrances, though most of these are now lost in the undergrowth.
The Mine itself is an extensive labyrinth of tunnels and caves which reportedly stretch to 2.5 KM in length. With so many tunnels Inside, getting lost is a definite possibility, and has happened on occasion when people have been missing for days at a time.
Today the quarry forms part of the Lancashire Valley of Stone. Historical quarries, Mills and tramways that stretch across the hills here.
