HealthLink BC Physician Triage Pilot Project

Описание: British Columbians call HealthLink BC (HLBC) for information 24 hours a day. Depending on the nature of the call, some clients require an Emergency Department (ED) visit. To assist with ED decongestion efforts, in April 2016, HLBC and the Department of Emergency Medicine for Vancouver Coastal Health/Providence Health Care launched a five-month Physician Triage Pilot project.

The partnership created a cohesive, collaborative working group between tele nurses and emergency physicians, resulting in a 15 per cent reduction in ED visits within 24 hours of the call, without compromising patient safety.
