VIDEO CONTENTS:
[0:00] Introduction to where the project is
[1:53] Removing a little more liquid from our recovered indigo.
[2:48] 3:1 ratio of Rit color remover:indigo. 50 g of 35% pure indigo = 17.5 g indigo. One packet of Rit color remover is good to help jumpstart my new vat.
Adding the Rit color remover to my jar.
[6:22] 30 min after adding the rit color remover (inverting the jar again) and talking about the colors
[7:59] After another 30 min (1 total) checking the level of settling. I decided to wait 30 more min before setting up the big vat.
Add 1 tsp of soda ash (aka washing soda)
[10:32] Making a large vat in a 5 gallon bucket out of my jar stock solution. I started with warm tap water. ~20 g of the Rit Color remover (I measured by weight.) + tsp of soda ash to the water. Once those have been stirred in, I added my stock solution from the jar.
[12:44] DYEING IN OUR VAT! FOR REAL! (not too much later, ~10 min later)
[18:02] Dip #2
[23:27] Washing, washing, and washing the yarn (outside)
[24:56] Washing the yarn (inside) I added a splash of vinegar to help neutralize the yarn.
[29:47] The finished dry yarns and conclusions
