The customer brought it in with a complete loss of electric drive, showing "EV Not Available" and a persistent traction control light on the dash. The vehicle would only drive using the combustion engine.

The main dealer diagnosed the car and quoted over £5,000 to replace the entire rear electric drive assembly (which includes the motor, inverter, and differential). But we knew there had to be a better way!

Watch as George and the team drop the entire rear subframe to get to the bottom of this intermittent fault. We dive deep into the electric motor position sensor and uncover a fascinating issue: degraded wiring insulation causing electromagnetic interference (noise) from the parking actuator to disrupt the sensor's signal!
