In 2008, the Department of Defense was authorized by Congress to “conduct a program to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War.” A divisive war when it occurred decades ago, efforts to remember the war still attract controversy. Patricia Limerick, faculty director and chair of the board at the Center of the American West engages Col.
