I’ve decided to train for my first triathlon — not because I’m a pro or trying to set records, but because I want to be proficient in all three events: swimming, cycling, and running. In this video, I walk you through what my training looks like right now, show clips of me in the pool, on the bike, and on the run, and share how it felt to put it all together for the first time. This isn’t a “how-to” — just a realistic look at how I’m approaching training for my first mini-triathlon.
For me, this is about more than competing. I think too many people settle for being barely functional, and I don’t want to be that way. Training for a triathlon is my way of proving — mostly to myself — that you can choose to be more capable than average, even if you’re starting from zero experience. You don’t need to be an elite athlete to take on something like this, you just have to commit and show up.
