For the first time in France, an aerial drone was successfully launched from a nuclear attack submarine (SSN). This technical challenge was carried out by Naval Group and its partners Diodon and the French Navy. 🤝
Naval Group has perfected a waterproof cocoon launched from a submarine which releases a small pneumatic quadcopter drone once on the surface. The HP30 is designed for reconnaissance missions beyond the range of a submarine’s sensors and thus complements the existing capabilities of the vessel. 🌊
