first of all, happy new year :-) to the friends who are in places in the world where it already may be 2019. To some, you are celebrating the new year right at this very moment!
It is delightful and warm feeling to know there is happiness and hope around the world in places we may not see or know of, but can trust that it is there. Just like nature, there is a balance of everything and it is in our choices to do what's in our power to make the best our of our days.
This video was a combined two days, of my family's small trip out to san francisco. It was my aunt and cousin's first time visiting SF, and Tyler hasn't been for 13 years. It was just delightful weather, even though I love Karl the Fog I got to say he depresses me lol.
So we decided to split up the first day and meet for dinner. William really wanted to take Tyler and Jason biking (this is the same route we went on last summer together, this vlog    • FOUR WEEKS OF SUMMER // CatCreature  . Jason was anxious about biking in a city and right on the road, so I promised that he can ride with William on a tandem (who is very experienced and good at biking!) And just for the heck of it, I wanted to try tandem for the first time too. I knew riding behind Tyler would give me the change to pull out the camera more! We rented from "blazing saddles" which I don't recommend. They have extremely outdated bikes in poor condition. We used a different place last time!
I also left out the part where the ferry line in sausalito was RIDICULOUS. We ended up ditching it after finding out that certain folks missed 3 ferries and waited for over 2 hours. We rode a taxi back into the city.
Meanwhile, my sister and the rest of them were exploring SF by car. You might have noticed some snippets that my sister filmed- I took a more subtle approach to distinguish her segments through color correction instead of placing the camcorder border on (less obstructive.)
William couldn't make dinner with us (had to make it home by a certain time), so we headed to the Ferry Building to meet up with everyone, and found the restaurant my sister recommended (called Ginto). It was yummy! We checked into the hotel, and had a nice sleep.
Originally we all wanted to visit the Muir Woods forest (half of us haven't seen redwoods before) but I forgot that phone/online reservations are required since last year and they were all booked out. But next best thing- a detour up to stinson beach! This is nostalgic and brings back memories from (this vlog    • REMEMBERING THE BEACH // A moving album.  ) last summer, too.
It was a great time! Obviously more chilly than last summer, and we didn't come prepared with a tent or beach blanket. The views along the entire coast and bay were really something. I am grateful to be able to document, share, and look back on these memories together.
