"Skywalking" On The ±1100KV Ultra-high Voltage Live-line in China

Описание: Chinese electricians have succeeded on Saturday in simulating 1100kv live-line operation on a 88-meter high transmission tower at an 1100kv ultra-high voltage experiment center in the Changpin District, Beijing.

This is the first time in the world to try the live line operation on ±1100kv ultra-high voltage power transmission line.

The experiment involved the simulation of direct line tower, tension support tower, and typical pole tower, with all the operations proceeding as scheduled. The experiment was an instant success. As compared with the traditional operation, it requires few operators, lower labor intensity but higher level of safety.

This simulation experiment is part of the important study subject for the Changji-Guquan ±1100kv ultra-high voltage direct current transmission project, which is the world's highest level power transmission project. It is still under construction and there was not testing and servicing experience to draw on at home.
