The January issue of TV Justice magazine brings an overview of the most important trials held before the Court of BiH War Crimes Chamber during 2010.
Although the National Strategy for War Crimes Processing was adopted more than two years ago, its implementation is still slow. The key issue being insufficient number of judges and prosecutors at the local level that would process war crimes cases. Not only do the Courts and Prosecutor's Offices lack human resources, they are also unequipped with technical capacities necessary for ensuring witness protection. If the Strategy's current implementation pace continues, it is estimated that thousands of remaining war crimes cases won't be completed in the next 13 years.
The guest of this month's edition is the Chief Prosecutor of Federation of BiH, Zdravko Knezevic, who spoke about the reasons surrounding slow implementation of the National Strategy.
In January, TV Justice interviewed people of Travnik about their opinion of war crimes trials at the Court of BiH.
