In this video, I hit a Florida WMA for my first-ever boots-on-the-ground whitetail scouting mission. Before stepping foot in the woods, I spent hours e-scouting, watching tons of videos and hunts for Florida whitetail, breaking down aerials and topo maps to identify funnels, travel corridors, and hard habitat transition edges.
Coming from Wisconsin, it didn’t take long to realize that Florida public land is a completely different beast. The terrain, vegetation, pressure, and deer behavior are nothing like what I grew up hunting—but that’s exactly what makes this challenge so exciting.
This trip was all about learning, adapting, and starting the process of figuring out Florida whitetails on public land. I’m fully committed to the grind and can’t wait to keep scouting, hunting, and dialing these deer in.
