Welcome to the world of DayZ, hit by a new and presently unknown infection which has wiped out most of the world's population. You are one of the few that have survived and now you must search this new wasteland in order to fight for your life against what is left of the indigenous population now infected with the disease. Go solo, team up with friends or take on the world, as you choose your path in this brutal and chilling landscape using whatever means you stumble upon to survive.
DayZ is basically the story of you, a survivor in Chernarus, a fictional post-Soviet country in Eastern Europe. You wake up near the coastline, hungry, with only the clothes on your back, a road flare, and a rag. You have no game given memory of your past. This is your personal Day Zero. This is the story of you, and how long you can survive after an air born virus has infected and wiped out most of the population. Luckily, you are one of the few survivors that are immune to the virus. When you awake, it quickly becomes clear that some time has passed since society collapsed. Cities are abandoned. Stores are empty. Vehicles are wrecked and broken down. It is a beautiful Hell you have awoken to. The story is completely dependant on you. There is no in game narrative, other than the virus that has destroyed the country. Your only goal is to survive, by whatever means you deem necessary.
